Power of Joy (3) : Dancing Bollywood in Switzerland and New York (how to create the magical)

“If you know that all is well, you know all you need to know.

And if you know life is supposed to be fun, you know more than almost anybody else knows.

And if you know that the way you feel is your indicator of how connected you are to Source, then you know that which only a handful of Deliberate Creators, respective to the total population, really know.”

– Abraham Hicks

Do you realize how important happiness and FUN is to your success? Or do you feel you have to struggle your way to greatness? Most do. It’s what we learn as a society with the “no pain no gain” slogans and all that. It’s a badge of honour to be busy and work hard. We feel we have to earn it.

But the universe doesn’t work like that!

As I shared in the first post on using the Power of Joy, at first I tried to discard my woo-wooness and just be ‘practical’ but then recognized how unhelpful it was to just focus on the reality as it was (single, undatable, hairless, living at my parents’ house.. a loser) and how actually, in order to make all the changes to get back on my path and be able to support myself again, it was actually necessary to believe that things were working out for the best.

So in the second post I explained how this power to attract actually works very well when we’re just having fun and not focusing on the specifics and how it had been working to bring me towards my creative desires.

And today let’s see how we can develop this power to create the magical. Because who doesn’t want to live a life that is fulfilling in every way with fantastical experiences on top?! First we must agree that we are energetic beings, like everything in the universe. Do we agree?!

It is no secret and widely recognized that positive people do better at life. Lucky people are lucky because they think they are. Optimistic patients heal faster. The placebo effect is well-known and studied. Sports professionals use mindset coaches and envisioning to bring them to victory. And for some, life just seems to be really awesome.

So let’s agree that our minds are powerful. Our thoughts create things but only because they affect our energy. When we speak of energy, it is emotion.  Like attracts like. Happy wife, happy life.

We all have the power to attract what we want. We simply have to tune into it.

For the longest time, like most, I did not truly get how to do this or how I was doing it. And when I did know I also over-complicated things and only got half the story. Perhaps you’ve experienced this too, unknowingly perpetuating a lack through the struggle, the desperation and angst of wanting to “be there already” and focusing too much on the goals or end result.

Often though, when I forgot about what I wanted and simply followed my joy, I did receive some of the most magical experiences and things. So it was with that whimsical desire to be a Bollywood dancer on that trip to India in 2003, taken some private lessons and had then had forgotten about it while practising photography and starting to write. But life had not forgotten about it.

This is exactly how our power to attract works..

As Abraham teaches, we first experience what we don’t want so that we know what we do want and when we do this, we shoot off rockets of desire that sets the manifestation in motion. We don’t even have to write it out or focus on the specifics!

What that usually does is make us aware that it’s not there and so experience lack rather than abundance. And never in my life have I repeated the affirmation, “I am a Bollywood dancer”. It really wasn’t that important to me. But! On the return from India I did host a Bollywood party (also because I wanted to wear my mum’s incredible engagement sari). And for a friend’s “Who do you want to be when you grow up?” 30th birthday party, I grabbed something quickly from mum’s closet and went as..

A Bollywood Star!!

And so my desire to be a Bollywood dancer manifested twice in the coolest, most synchronistic ways, in both New York and Switzerland. So let’s see what we can learn from this to apply to our lives every day..

1.Experience what you don’t want so you know what you do want.

No need to try and make that happen. It’s what we’re doing anyway. The key then is to understand that experiencing what you don’t want is part of life. Things are not going to be perfect all day every day and that would be really boring if it was.

2. Have fun. Don’t worry, be Happy.

Don’t let the present reality affect you too must. Keep believing things are working out for the best. And yes, most of us are working and this is perfect because when we are focused on work, in the present moment, enjoying ourselves, we are actually in the energy of what we desire to attract. This is what’s awesome about work.

Whereas when we have something we really really want like love, a better job, a new car, clients, money, to publish a book, whatevs we tend to get all angsty that things are not happening yet.

But angst energy is very far from the top of the emotional frequency scale, where love, joy, abundance and appreciation reign supreme.

So we must train ourselves to focus our thoughts on the positive and/or be happy in the present moment and/or be so focused on something else that our overall energy is high. Enjoy life. When we can master this in the present, we also master the future.

After returning from India and after doing yoga there on my own most days and learning  and practising meditation for the first time, I must have returned to Perth with some GOOD VIBES because lots of awesome fun stuff kept happening. Like this..

On stage with Metallica!!

3. Once in the flow, follow those intuitive hits to take actions

Yes scale the fence if that’s what your intuition is telling you to do (or your fun guide)!! On this occasion one of my English students was thankfully in the audience to capture this epic moment. He couldn’t believe his eyes seeing his teacher dancing on stage with his favourite band! How awesome!! Another time that summer it was the Jurassic Five backstage party.. Coincidence? I think not.

It was the energy!!

What had happened in India and just before as I desired to silence the chatterbox and crazy stalker jealous cow in my head is that I was no longer affecting my energy so adversely with the insanity and everyday negativity of the egoic mind.

From that space, we are not connected to the Divine, the Infinite Intelligence.

We just don’t have too many great ideas but rather are stuck on a “let’s drive by his house one more time. I bet he’s with someone else. Let me check his Facebook page.” loop. Or a “I shouldn’t have eaten that. Shit I I was really bad today. I’ll be good tomorrow. What’s for dinner?” loop. Whereas, when you are happy, free and in the flow, life flows.

In becoming Queen of our Lives and Magical Creator we really must also release and transform those aspects of ourselves that are holding us back. This is why I’ve created Queen of your Love Life and Body Love and am releasing them as an individual ebook and module My desire is to help others who are stuck in these prisons as I was.

As a teenager growing up in suburbia, I was, as I’ve said, lacking in social life but not in imagination and always, as I wrote in my journal, “waiting for life to begin!” I dreamed of being a pilot, a dentist, going to a Swiss hotel school (and being perfect), being a supermodel (and being perfect) or just a girl-next door image (of being perfect) in Dolly mag. I desired an apartment in Paris and oh, such deep passionate love with a non-fictional version of Peekay from the Power of One. An academic multi-lingual boxer. So hot!

Those were my rockets of desire and indication of the 14 year journey in perfecting myself that followed, which did not give me the Peace, Love or hot body I desired. What I really desired was an interesting life!!

So as soon as I could work and save the money to travel, I did. So it was aged 25 I’d stumbled upon a hip hop dance school in New York one night waiting on ICQ. And there I was suffering through another class at BLADE that Monday night when I met Rujuta, an Indian dance choreographer looking for dancers. And that’s how this little hip hop dancer became a Bollywood dancer, for the first time, in New York and then even once in Las Vegas.

Align with joy and allow it to be easy..

Have the desire, focus on something else and or have fun working, and then follow those intuitive hits when they come. Almost 10 years later, following  an impulse from my office at the Swiss hotel school where I was working as an English lecturer and dissertation supervisor.. (Swiss hotel school! ahuh), I followed an impulse and called a theatre director friend I’d met 3 years prior, which happened to be on the day she was hosting auditions for a play and she required.. One. Bollywood. Dancer… so that’s how it happened the second time!! In Switzerland!!

(We performed 12 shows, went to the fringe festival in The Hague.. and had a whole lot of fun.)

The Bollywood 25th Birthday Party I had (so I could wear  Mum’s incredible engagement Sari)

In my role aged 33 as a Bollywood Bride

So what can we learn from this?

Besides taking our dress up parties and dreaming seriously (!!), go outside and play, be in the universe, connect with people, follow the impulse, put ourselves in the river of life and open up to the magnificence and magic. Be willing to not know. LET GO and ALLOW life to lead, in the energy of well-being, connection, ABUNDANCE, LOVE, JOY and FLOW.

To our joy and ease..

and with so much love,

Mireille xxx
