Manifest : This Matters More Than Thoughts!

Last week, I was talking to a friend about manifesting. She was saying that she kept having bad dreams, though she was being positive about her situation. My feeling was that she needed to feel her emotions and I told her so.

The Psyche will be heard.

Even though words are powerful, as I wrote last week in manifesting beautiful skin, there are some aspects that are even more potent in manifesting.


What Matters More Than Thoughts When Manifesting Consciously?



Thoughts are on the surface of the mind and mostly we are conscious of them. Beliefs are what is down deep, the programming that is steering our ships. How to change our beliefs? Yes, we can repeat, write or say affirmations because, as Abraham says, a belief is a thought you keep thinking.

The mind filters out 95% of what we experience during the day, according to our beliefs. So, what we believe becomes our reality. Change our beliefs, change our lives.

How to program the subconscious mind with new beliefs? A powerful way is through stories. Humans have been doing this since before we could even talk, passing down beliefs from one generation to the next.

There was a study on the subconscious I read about in an English teaching journal, a few years back. It showed that, in a learning situation, we were more likely to remember the periphery details than the main event.

The subjects remembered the details about the library more than what they were learning. Once I knew this, I didn’t mind so much if my students were not paying full attention in class. I figured their subconscious minds were ever-present, collecting morsels for digestion.

So, when ingesting a story, our subconscious minds must be hearing what’s underneath, the lessons and the meaning. As I used to teach in my workshops, you can believe whatever you want. So, what do you choose to believe? 


2. Emotions

If beliefs are the programming, then emotions are the energy behind the will to become. There are many people in this world who haven’t even heard of manifesting and are successful.

Emotions of the highest frequency, as I shared in this post, are not just joy and love but also presence, passion and focus. There is a lot of alignment in work.

But when we don’t feel our emotions, they are still there, lurking in our dreams and in that un-ease that we may be distracting ourselves from.

According to Human Design, people are either feelers or non-feelers. I am a non-feeler, with an undefined Solar Plexus (Emotional) Centre. That’s why I’ve had to learn to feel so that I don’t distract myself with food, social media and the like.

When I was practising the law of attraction very intentionally in 2017, I came to a point where I realised, I couldn’t get into alignment because I wasn’t feeling my emotions. Once we have felt them, we can naturally come to joy, love and abundance.   

Plus, we receive thoughts according to our emotional frequency. When we feel good, we think better thoughts. I experience this every day and save more difficult things to think about for when I am fresh.

To feel emotions, we only have to put attention on the area of the body and feel it. Once we do that, it lifts. Try this at night when you’re going to sleep and see how much better you feel in the morning.

3. Minimise Importance

When we have a desire, we should not put it on a pedestal because it is far away from us then. It should be something that we naturally receive. That’s why there’s a lot of alignment in work too. 

Imagine, we are just trying to think thoughts and feel different but not actually do anything towards receiving it. That’s a big jump.

As a English As A Second Language teacher, I never went on a contract because I preferred it for my lifestyle of travel. But I always had work because I wasn’t desperate about it. If one school didn’t need me, I could work somewhere else or find work of another kind if need be. As it was, I stayed at the same school mostly, besides my lengthy sojourns overseas, for fifteen years.

When it comes to writing and publishing, of course I feel differently about it. It feels more important and not as attainable. Oh yes, you hear so many stories about how difficult it is. But E.L. James of the Fifty Shades trilogy, self- published and is now a billionaire. J.K. Rowling was an ESL teacher till Harry Potter was finally published in her forties. Also a billionaire. 

I don’t think either had expected or hoped to have that level of success. They just wrote what was in their hearts to and success followed. 


4. Be It

Being it is one with minimising importance. Because when you are it, you’re not hoping to be it. You just are it.

When I was teaching, it wasn’t just that I wanted to have a job as a teacher. I put effort in and was a good teacher. Likewise, with writing, I’ve been working on my books 4-5 days a week, including the weekend during the years I was teaching the other three days , for fifteen years!!

Same as with my health. In 2020, so much was going wrong that I had to give up. I meditated daily for 90 minutes and rested, but besides that I had fun. The radiation on my spine and medication, healed the tumours, and the rest (liver tumours, bone metastasis, a half numb face from a wisdom tooth removal the year before) also went away over a three to six month period.

I did do a lot of manifesting practices, before the letting go.  You may have experienced too how, it’s when we let go finally that our desires manifest. This is how my kitchen renovation manifested too.

When we are in the wanting, we are not in the having. So have fun!

People often wonder how manifesting plays out in my life. It can be for simple things like last week. My Dad and I took apart my wardrobe on Tuesday and then decided  that we were not going to fix the ceiling and paint the walls ourselves because it was too big a job.

I felt so happy about this. An hour later I called him to say that I had already organised a painter and rubbish removal for the next day! And meanwhile, people are thinking how hard it is to get tradies in Perth at the moment. I was in alignment and followed my intuition. 


5. Let Go

Yes, we can visualise and do other powerful manifesting practices, but in the end we have to let go and let God. 

We don’t have the whole perspective. We don’t know how the components of our manifestations can come together so perfectly. But Source does. 

Sometimes we can get so hung up on things being a certain way that we miss the opportunity for alignment and ease.

Let go and let God.
