Your Life Purpose

Friend, once again, at the risk of seeming like a complete dork, I shall share with you my truth. Oh yayyy! I’m feeling so excited to have finally found my life purpose and will share with you how you can find yours too. Last week especially I was really asking for this, affirming/praying in the form of “Thank you that I am living my life purpose!” as I went on my beauty walk. The next day I felt extremely on purpose but then on Tuesday evening I felt really down, wondering when it was going to happen and why it hadn’t happened yet.

Interestingly, as part of my life purpose I can swing between mania or confidence (I can do anything!)  and self-doubt or overwhelm (Why did I think I could do this?). Don’t I know it.  But because of feeling that insecurity on Tuesday, I  decided to do a 21-day daily meditation challenge. I’ve been a bit slack in that arena lately. Well, already that started me feeling so clear and joyful again on Wednesday and then on Friday morning as I was standing at the sink, thinking about a problem, I received the idea (the thought popped in my head) to go check this particular website, which led me to a book I have on Kindle, The Life You Were Born To Live. Actually, it wasn’t the first time that little voice had mentioned it lately but this time I listened.

Wow. This was a revelation! It is a calculation based on your date of birth and though it may sound far fetched, I tested the calculator against at least ten relationships, including with family and friends, and found it very accurate. So then I went to look at the book and found that as a 30/3 my life purpose is self-expression through emotional sensitivity and intuition, helping others to feel their emotions and experience the full expression of their humanity.

“At the summit, the emotional connection 3s can feel to life and to others generates a rising energy that, once expressed, can uplift everyone around them, revelling in emotions the way dolphins revel in the sea. At the highest levels, 3s serve as an open channel of loving energy, moving others to joy and inspiration, becoming a force of light in the world.”

Couldn’t agree more! Lol. But because life purpose doesn’t come easily, the obstacles we face help us to deal with the issues associated with our paths. So it was that I came to writing as a way of expressing my emotions when I didn’t know how to as a child, teen and young adult. 3s make the best orators but also the best manic-depressives. I know the effect of blocking my emotions too and have been on a journey of expressing them in constructive ways. In fact, each time I have gone to the psych, post breast cancer metastasis, it has been with the intention to feel my emotions more. As a teacher or coach I was very in tune with how my students or clients were feeling, but had to learn to pull back also, to better serve them and myself.

There is a lot more in the book and in my books but you can start off with the calculator and find out yours. I’d love to know what your numbers are too. Try the calculator with your relationships and let me know how you go in the comments if any of it resonates. What have you got to lose?

Married At First Sight : Intuition & Receiving

Dear friend, have you been watching Married At First Sight? I didn’t know what to write to you about today so I will write about this. Last Monday I woke at 4.30am and couldn’t get back to sleep so I ended up reading Rich As Fuck  and then I felt the urge to look at Amanda Frances’s instagram, which I resisted at first, and from there I had the urge to look at Katrina Ruth’s account, which I resisted at first too. But I read a post from her saying to teach what has been most transformative in your life.

At first I wasn’t sure what has been most transformative in my life. There are things that I’m practising but am not 100% sure about, like the law of attraction. Then there are things that I’m writing my books about but haven’t wanted to write here because I’d rather tell it as a full story. But over the week, it became clear that learning about love and relationships has been the most transformative thing in my life. I started off so bad at it and was for a very long time. But in the last five years this is really what I’ve been studying and practising behind the scenes.

And though my ego was saying “no, no.. I don’t want to teach!” that little call of the soul was saying go on, step in gently. So today, I again had no clue what to write but here it is. My head wanted to write about Married At First Sight but it was only a way for my heart to speak. Intuition feels like a push from the heart to me. It’s a physical feeling, which I practise tuning into. If I have to decide between two things or where to park, what to eat, I’ll ask my heart and listen to the feeling. Left or right, I ask, and I get an impulse or an answer of right or left. Know what I mean?

Jess Lively has said, “The ego pushes, the soul calls” and sometimes I haven’t been so clear on what this means. But I guess it is exactly what I’ve just written about. My mind wants a good night’s sleep and decides I shouldn’t look up the Married At First Sight cast before bed because I wake up at 4.30am alert, my brain churning with ideas. But sometimes this is a good thing. One thing I feel for sure is true from the law of attraction (Abraham) teachings is that we receive thought, according to our vibrational frequency. That’s why I don’t think about important things at night when I’m tired or have critical discussions then.

But these little bread crumbs, one thing leading to the next, that morning at 4.30am, felt like part of a manifestation for sure, leading to me here, with more to come. Over the week other pieces started to come together, as ideas formulated out of the abyss. Abraham says that thought is manifestation, and sometimes you are not ready for your desire so you get the letting in process instead. These past five years have been a letting in process, a learning, an education, stepping stones on a path of discovery, still continuing. But getting closer it seems.

My Three-Book Process

I felt to write more about what’s going on in the world at the moment, especially about Aboriginal history, art and culture that I learnt teaching Australian Culture and Critical Thinking to Chinese students on the study tours I took for CELT UWA last year.

But instead I’ll write to you about what’s flowing.

When I was away in January, I started watching the news, which I normally only do once a week at my parents’ house. Though I do like to look at the newspaper on my morning break at the cafe. Anyway, because I started watching the news to help me go to sleep at night, I felt too many awful things were going on in the world and I felt bad to post my trip on Instagram. So I stopped posting.

The other reason was because my mind was having a field day creating those posts and I didn’t want to be thinking about it as I was walking around Bangkok or Chiang Mai and so I stopped. What happened then is that other memories came up from my body for recognition and releasing.

When I actually took the time to write this out in my journal and what I was truly feeling. The anger. The disgust. Then I cleared it.

So anyway, all this to say that since a month or more ago I’ve been working on four books, all creative non-fiction, and today I have been working on three of them so I thought I’d share this interesting process that just appeared today, adapted from what I wrote there in one of the books.

On the one hand, I love to incubate with one book, fully focused. But in that state it can also be quite hard for me to not express myself more. That was when Miranda said there’s so much creativity wanting to burst out of me. Now I’m just going with what’s flowing. When it gets to the end, I might feel that it’s time to focus on one fully. But it feels also like these three books, Wizard, Conqueror and The One should be read in tandem too to get the full picture.

Well you gotta read the 8 books to grasp the story. Hopefully someone will want to. In any case, I have to write them to get it out. Then I can walk free. But now, when I get up, to go to the bathroom, or even just pause for a moment, receive a text, a new thought rises. Or two. This was one of them. The other, which came simultaneously, was that I want to write in The One next about my feelings of wanting to shut X out and how I enjoy this not knowing, this tension.

Then thirdly I’m writing about Lessons in Conqueror and about the hotel management school for the last hour, interrupted by new thoughts coming in. An Indian masseuse in Lucerne said I had many layers of thought. My mind is working on one thing consciously and behind another and another. But yes, maybe this isn’t such a bad thing. Maybe this is just who I am and how I function. The multitasking.

It’s not like I’m distracted. I’m focused. But focused on three things at once. Or not even. I’m focused on one and then another layer is dislodged from deep in my body. Rising from the deep. That’s what it feels like to me.

I enjoy this process of recording how life facilitates such excavations. I’m enjoying this process too of working on three books at once. In the past hour, this is what I’ve been doing. A paragraph here, a paragraph there. Whatever rises from the formless into form. It comes from my chest and then manifests through my hands to the word document, bypassing my brain.

It’s a physical experience. Like a painter with three canvases or a musician working on three songs at once. And then a fourth going (maybe that’s the mind), oh we’d like to put this last part on Instagram. That’s it.

Wishing you a magical week! Hope you are well. Till next Tuesday..

Lots of love,

Mireille xx

How I Met Paul McCartney In London!

The year was 2002 and it was during the ten months I lived in London with some of my best friends. Four of us lived in a two-bedroom flat in Clapham South which was rather nice for Aussies in London aged 22. Vivian Westwood’s mother lived in our building and that was as far as our links to celebrity went.

Except for that time I met Paul McCartney. Now when I say met I mean locking eyes, just the two of us, Paul having the look of a deer in the headlights and me with the look of “Holy fuck that’s Paul McCartney!”.

I was walking in a quiet corner of a park with my student and friend, Federico. I worked at a school in Clapham, took the northern line every day and always fell asleep on the way home if I wasn’t eating a tub of hummus dipped with Pringles, those delicious vegimitey twiggy sticks. On this day though Federico and I had walked all the way from the school to this great park.

We could have been discussing a range of things. He was an amazing guy, came from Northern Italy and his father was a cubist painter, but what stands out most was his love for Bruce Springsteen. At that point he had been to, like, no joke, 127 Springsteen concerts and he was only in his early or mid twenties. When Bruce would come to Europe, Federico and his friends would go to every show they could and wait outside the hotel as well as wear these big pointy hats at the concert. Springsteen knew them and had done a shout out.

But this is not a story about Bruce Springsteen. That Wednesday afternoon as we walked through the park, Federico must have been talking when I locked eyes with a very familiar face. It’s a funny thing when you see someone famous. The brain takes a while to calculate why you’ve seen this face 1000 times before. At first it feels like you’re seeing an old friend.

Paul was all alone with his then wife, Heather Mills, and their newborn baby, sitting on a bench having a normal moment. Absolutely no one else was around. Seeing me see him, the look of not fear, not pleasing, but asking in his eyes made me not want to approach him. Sure I tapped Federico and whispered “There’s Paul McCartney” but I didn’t feel it right to disturb his peace and normality.

What for? An autograph? That seems silly. Recently Federico and I connected over Linkedin again and Federico wrote, “Remember when we saw Paul McCartney in X Park?! We resisted the temptation for a picture with History. And we did well!!” and I replied, “Yes we were bigger than history in that moment. We were humanity.”

And to that I say, Amen.

Wishing you a magical week. Till next Tuesday..

Lots of love,

Mireille xx

How To Turn Fear To Faith!

‘Feed Your faith and your fears will starve to death.’

~  Seen on Instagram

After having three major surgeries in the last seven years, two on the brain and one on the breast, and all the rest that comes with metastatic breast cancer, I know a thing or two about turning fear to faith.

In fact, you don’t turn fear to faith, like you don’t turn fat to muscle. You simply increase the faith (or the muscle) and the fear becomes drowned out. Ok clearly I don’t know so much about fat and muscle so let’s stick to the topic. How to turn fear to faith?

    1. Affirmations

When I was in the hospital that week following the first brain surgery, when the 6cm tumour and my whole brain sac was removed, the medication I was put on also had the side effect of causing anxiety and confusion. One day in particular when my mind really was slipping into the abyss, the thing I clung to was the repetition of this affirmation.

All is well. Everything is working out for my highest good. Out of this only good will come. I am safe.

I repeated it over and over. And over. What affirmations do is, as well as being a prayer and programming of the subconscious mind, they create new neural programming. Because when you’re having this thought, you’re not having another thought. In this way they put you into a higher vibe state so you actually can receive different thoughts, aka think positively.

2. Belief

If you believe that things are happening for you and not to you, if you really believe this and reflect on your life enough to actually know in your bones that it is so, then you trust. You have faith. Of course it can be hard to see this in the moment but if you believe in a higher power, higher self or creative force, then you don’t have to manage it all yourself.

Everything is always working out for us.

In everyday life, we must build this faith in whatever we want to believe. Find examples in real life or on the internet and program your subconscious mind to know it can be so. This is what I did via Chris Beat Cancer, Dr Gabor Mate of When The Body Says No and many others. Plus, I had a lot of practice with the mind and Life’s magic to know there’s more to it than what most of society believes.

3. Action

Taking action increases faith because you are actually doing something, not just thinking about it. For a while I practiced adopting my parents’ diet but that didn’t work out well. Then I went headlong into the keto diet and read books about the metabolic theory of cancer. While that was helpful in many ways, it wasn’t my path. Eventually, following intuition, I found the Nori protocol.

Whatever you’re doing is working. It all adds up.

I had also been practising the law of attraction and just being happy. That was also not my solution. When I was actually eating healthily and gave up alcohol, on the NORI protocol, I felt healthy also. I knew I was doing my part in the equation and the rest was not up to me. Action builds faith because well, not only are you doing something, but also it decreases the resistance of desiring without doing.

4. Neutrality

As I’ve shared, when I was 24, I first learned how to harness the power of my mind and, while I haven’t done it perfectly in the years since, daily practice, in the last five years especially, has enabled me to push the thoughts out of my head. Rather than trying to change my thoughts, these days I practice thinking nothing. How to think nothing? The more you practice meditation, the better you become at this. You can bring your attention to the chest and focus on this, as I share in Master Your Mind.

We are more than the mind. We are Life itself.

When I become conscious of a thought I’m not interested in entertaining, I imagine a bulldozer pushing it out of my head, but mostly I just allow my mind to have its fun, giving it problems to solve, while I carry on. An important step when feeling anything though is to practise the technique I shared for moving emotion through the body and releasing it. Then you are naturally neutral, like a child after a tantrum or an animal after a fight.

5. Perspective

We cannot see the bigger picture from where we are, we cannot see how things are actually working out for the best. But looking back, this becomes obvious. When I look back on how I accidentally deleted all my YouTube videos that time in 2016 or how I got the breast cancer and then it metastasised, I can now clearly see the benefits.

Whatever’s happening is meant to be, just wait and see.

The law of attraction is also called the art of allowing. I got Allow tattooed to my right wrist with a lightning bolt because I believe in it so much. It was right there that the anaesthetist put the metal into my vein to monitor my pulse the second time I had brain surgery. Thank God for that!! While seeing the bigger picture, it’s important that we do feel our feelings. Sometimes I’ve also missed the opportunity for real transformation by not fully feeling the pain of what I was going through.

Learning to master my mind was the best thing that ever happened to me. If you’d like to tune into intuition/instinct and gain the clarity of your Life’s guidance while taming the beast of fear and chatter between the ears, I’m offering to do the practice with you so you can ask any questions and get help and clarification as we go. To join, you simply have to do the following.

Manifesting A Miracle This Week!

‘Rule your mind or it will rule you.’

~ Horace

When I hear how many Australians commit suicide every week. When I read that another ex has been brutally murdered. When I see that doctors, nurses and health staff are feeling so stressed and overwhelmed. That people are fighting over toilet paper. That an old friend has bought Master Your Mind because his wife has a serious illness. I think, no I must not be quiet. I must share this.

Because if we have control of our mind, if we have happiness, the kingdom is ours. We are each so powerful. SO powerful.

Something amazing happened last weekend. I had been watching some videos on selling on Amazon on Friday night and it put me in a bit of a low vibe state. It felt quite overwhelming and I felt tired, too tired to blah put myself out there again. I went to sleep and two hours later woke up, tossing and turning with “What if I fail?” thoughts.

I tried to just breathe through it. Then I remembered this other video I wanted to watch from Aaron Doughty, a law of attraction/consciousness teacher. He was saying that in 2020 it’s all about how you can help and it has to come from the heart, in no matter what field we’re in. But it has to be genuine.

At the beach with my friend the next morning, I was telling her I’d decided I was going to practise the law of attraction more when it came to my books. Still not feeling totally in alignment but allowing that to be so, I read and after lunch I fell asleep on the grass there. I remember having an intense dream and feeling this unease. How could I promote Master Your Mind when I’ve just finished talking about Wonderlust?

Just then I received a message from a friend I knew seventeen years ago. He’d got in touch out of the blue a month back to ask me to sign a petition as his wife tragically has developed a motor neurone disease, ALS. Now his message said that he’d bought Master Your Mind and he hoped it would help.

Whoa just like that I was snapped straight out of my head and into my heart! Oh my God. This is so not about me!! If I can help someone out there to create the peace within, that is exactly why I brought the book out now and so quickly!

Now I am so motivated to promote the book because people actually need this. I’ve distilled what I’ve learned over the past 17 years into a 30-day, 20-minute a day process. The crazy thing is that my friend came into my life exactly at the time I’ve been writing to you about, with the break up that propelled me to learn about the power of the mind!

I knew him very briefly between the break up and my trip to India and it was exactly on the Easter Thursday that I went out with him and not with my friends. My ex called the next day to ask why I hadn’t come out. Ja, I remember things. Imagine knowing that seventeen years later, what I learned then would help this guy help the love of his life? Or that him messaging me, following his intuition, would be the motivation I needed right at that moment to share this work?!!

Isn’t it awesome?!

Learning to master my mind was the best thing that ever happened to me. And now, because of my friend’s message, I’m offering to do the practice with you so you can ask any questions and get help and clarification as we go. To join, you simply have to do the following.

1.Get the Master Your Mind : Create Peace Within book.

How Hindi Vinyl Made Me A Writer!

‘To act but not to grasp.’

~ Wisdom of the Tao

When I was in my late teens, one of my friends did photography as part of her art program and then degree. She sometimes used me in her shoots and I really enjoyed the process and would input my ideas on the day. As I shared in How a Breakup Changed my Life, I was a very creative child but didn’t have an outlet for it after starting high school and turned myself into the art project, developing disordered eating, obsession with food and always trying to diet, over-exercise and perfect myself.

So when I met Satheesh the sound engineer in India, following the breakup, and he offered to teach me to use an SLR camera, I was thrilled. I love taking photos (as you’d know if you follow Wonderlust_intheworld or MireilleParkerAuthor). So I spent the month practising round the suburbs of West Mumbai. My parents, by this stage, had gone home, while I stayed on to see how this all played out and it was just so awesome really, with my dream of developing creativity coming to fruition.

My mum had said that I should go into advertising as I was good with words and images but I didn’t want to sell people stuff I wasn’t passionate about or work long hours. However, Life has its way of leading us to our path. All we have to do is ask.

Because of Satheesh, I got to be the still photographer on a documentary shoot about a matrilineal society for the U.N. in Nagaland, an undeveloped area in the north east of India where tourists were normally not allowed to visit due to tribal conflict.

What I learned there is that it is really very tough working in film. We had to be up before dawn and no one cared about our breakfast. No one seemed to think about food for ten hours or so! Even so, it was an amazing experience being with these local villagers in a society where, unlike in the rest of India, women ruled. And sat around smoking home-grown tobacco and chewing betel-nut.

In Mumbai, Satheesh left me at the studio one weekend to upload old Hindhi vinyl while he went away for a shoot. To do this I’d been learning about sound and Protools, the software. Well, I got so bored that a novel started coming out of me! Words flowed, streaming through me and I just had to get it down. I spent the rest of the weekend on the laptop and, when Satheesh returned, I showed him what I’d ‘caught’.

As Life would have it, he had dated a Canadian-Indian screenwriter for three years and said that, for a first draft, it was amazing and I really had to focus on this now. So that is what I did. The all-seeing I. How magical is Life?! This is the power of mastering the mind. This is the power of tuning into instinct/ intuition. You don’t have to try to paddle upstream, As Abraham says, you only have to put your boat in the river.

I’ll be doing the 30-day Master Your Mind : Create Peace Within practice. If you’d like to join, simply follow these steps.

1.Get Master Your Mind : Create Peace Within.

2.Follow MasterYourMindBook on Instagram.

How I flowed to my FOUR Instagram accounts this weekend!

Not all those who wonder are lost. But sometimes we are looking for a direction. OMG! The funniest things happened this weekend. And all in my home of course. So how did I flow to my FOUR Instagram accounts, you ask?

Well, I’ve been thinking about my direction for a while. Like, pretty much the last few weeks of my trip. Then after uploading the Master Your Mind : Create Peace Within in 20 minutes a day book on Amazon on Friday (Yes!), I started to think about how to incorporate all of my interests and books into my Instagram account without being super annoying.

So I thought and thought on Saturday morning and came up with a good plan. But you know, the vibration of the problem is not the same as that of the solution. Still my mind was having so much fun (loves solving a problem) and wouldn’t let it go.

Finally I had to do things like clean my house, but then, later in the evening, I started watching some clips on YouTube on Quentin Tarantino and his creative process and then advice from company founders like Beso, Ma, Buffet and the like. That led onto an interview with the founder of Skinnymeteatox, The Fifth watches and a few other brands, who was saying that for each of her products, she has a different Instagram account.

Everything happens for a reason, no?

Last Thursday, I was about to go for a walk after lunch when suddenly I had the very strong urge to set up a new IG account. So I did that quickly before I went for the walk and then proceeded to take so many photos on the walk that I have three months’ worth of 3x/day posting (just a day in the life). I love this new account so much!

Dedicated to our wonderful world, Wonderlust_intheworld makes me feel so happy. But back to Saturday, I went to sleep and then woke up early Sunday morning with the idea that I would start two more accounts; Mireilleparkerauthor and masteryourmindbook and I set them up immediately.

Mireilleparkerauthor started out as being just that, but once I was posting yesterday I realised that I really wanted to post my travel shots and make it more of a mini blog type of thing. It’s also a great way to organise my photos, which would have been an immense job in itself.

But what I’m loving is being funny, silly and obscure! Actually, I absolutely love satire (like The Great Gatsby, The Virgin Suicides and Lolita) and with Wonderlust I was trying to do that for many years but it didn’t work in the first person, if you know what I mean.

In my early years of having an Instagram account, an artist and coach in Switzerland  told me she liked those kind of posts I did but someone else I admired said she didn’t like that kind of thing and, while trying to fit into the box of being a coach, it stuck with me.

But, I really like the one liners and the juxtaposed captions for the same reason I enjoy art and literature. It’s fun to not have everything explained. It’s amusement for our brains. Right? It’s interesting!

So, all this to say, I now have four Instagram accounts!!

I was supposed to be writing about Master Your Mind : Create Peace Within being released, but I’m so loving this new development that I can’t help but share it with you. It’s also the perfect example of what I share in the book.

So I’m going to be sharing my journey with #my4IGaccounts on my mireille_parker IG page. Come follow if you’d like the updates.

What a funny experiment.

I’m excited to share what I learn. Am I doing the right thing? Will this turn out well? Am I simply an idiot? What’s gonna happen? All this and more coming to you.
